FOUND PLACE (Part 1)

Posted in Venezia by dyluks74 on the June 12, 2007

I’ve been wanting to blog about our found place in this part of Italy. I just don’t know how to start it of. After eating the pizza we ordered from the hotel/restaurant near our house, I guess skipping the fuss to cook wins the mood to think and type.

Cavallino-Treporti is a part of the mainland(Veneto) which is 35 kilometers away from the city of Venice. 30 mins boat ride and 15 mins by car(no traffic). It’s one of the suburbs surrounding Venezia. The name “Cavallino” means “little horse” which could have been “the perfect haven” if there are really horses. It’s just a name aside from the little pony monument at the “centro”(center), found in front of the community church Sta. Maria Elisabetta’.

It’s also a branch of the 15 kilometers long beach of ‘Lido di Jesolo’ that was tagged as little Germany in the North of Italy. During summer, Germans flood the place making almost all the signs(road directions, menus, instructions, etc…) written in German. Most of the businesses here only opens during this season, including the hotel/restaurant near our house.

Here’s a link to Cavallino Treporti’s site. Surf around. I can’t upload pictures directly on my entry because I haven’t upgraded (better term for not paying) my blog space. I just added some of my husband’s photos in my blog album, which I’m reminded, I didn’t ask permission for doing so.  Abbob(Dylan’s Ninong) once said, “kasla met nga Pangasinan, haan nga abroad”( )(looks like Pangasinan and not “abroad”).
